crazy family

my family is planning a reunion. but we have one problem.this is my father side thats having the reunion.my father and all his brother,and sister,and father and mother are no longer with us.but one sister is left that is my aunt and marriage and have kids.her kids think the reunion tee shirts should have there last name on them.this is there mother side thats having this reunion and she had a different name before she got marriage but they just want listen

Rita, I understand about family reunion because I hosted my family reunion in 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2008 in three different cities. Dealing with people can be very diffcult, but you're right, and your first cousins needs to realize that their mother had a madien name before she got married, and they are a part of that tree as well, and that is where they fit in on their mother side, because everyone will not be related to their father side of the family.

I had a similar dispute with my sister when we begin planning our reunion. Some months have passed and we have finally agreed on the last name of our great grandfather and to include all the decendents of our great-grandfather. To help everyone follow and get a better understanding of who they are related to I'm also creating our very first family tree.

It's a huge job ! Much bigger then I ever expected but I know in the end it will be well worth it.
