Why not try for a big city near Greenville and look into the history of that city? You can schedule a tour of the city and get a bus, or you can look for a nice park to have a picnic, if not a host hotel to hold a banquet. If the city has a waterfront of some kind, or is near water, you can also look into booking a lunch cruise for a group rate. This can be an optional gathering for family members.
